On March 7, at the Nahim Isaiah Museum, CEPAM-Guayaquil commemorated the international day of women through a dialogue panel entitled “30 years ago: a look at the journey, knots, achievements and challenges of Ecuadorian women in the Fight for their rights “. The table was attended by prominent feminists from our country as Virginia Gomez de la Torre, Irene Pesantez, Magdalena Leon, the table was moderated by Myriam Alcivar.
Following this dialogue around the International Women’s Day, CEPAM-Guayaquil celebrated its 30th anniversary, for which the founders of this institution and community leaders of the province of Guayas were present.
More than 400 people were part of this celebration that gave various recognitions to people linked to the promotion and defense of women’s rights throughout these 30 years of activism.
The acknowledgments were made by: Lili Rodríguez, Susana Balarezo, Ma. Mercedes Placencia, Myriam Garcés and Hanne Holst, founders of CEPAM.
The work and work of: Myriam Alcivar, Marcia Gilbert de Babra, Virginia Gomez de la Torre, Marcos Pacheco, Cecilia Endara, Delia Yulan, Celeste Peralta, Nublis Chichinade and Mercedes Campoverde were also acknowledged.
The evening culminated with the musical intervention of Eddie Chiang, who provided a repertoire of songs of his own.
